(ABOUT ME)
Hi, I’m Kym, a licensed professional counselor with over 8 years of experience serving Missouri and Colorado.

I work with clients to address obstacles that are interfering in healthy & enjoyable relationships. My work is client-centered and I prefer to know the whole person, not just their problems. By getting to fully know the client, there is a greater likelihood of achieving lasting and meaningful changes. I work to help clients see their potential and also stop engaging in self-sabotaging behaviors.

Your mental health well-being is the foundation for healthy relationships and creating the life you want: a healthy, functional, productive, and emotionally rewarding life. To support this goal, sessions may include interventions from some of the following approaches to therapy.
Polyvagal Theory
How anxiety affects the central nervous system, especially for those who have experienced trauma.

Attachment Theory
How effectively we were able to bond with our caregivers in childhood can largely affect our ability to form relationships in adulthood.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Challenging & replacing negative internal dialogues that has created erratic behaviors that damage relationships.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy
Challenging internal dialogue that supports anxiety and depression.

Shame-Informed Therapy
Children who are raised in abusive environments frequently find they are struggling with shame in adulthood. This therapy helps reframe information that had been processed in childhood to help client reshape their thoughts about themselves.

Advanced Grief Therapy
Loss of someone, loss of job, loss of marriage- all can create a grief and a complicated grief response.
