(ABOUT ME)
Kym Armontrout, M.Ed., LPC
I knew by the end of high school that I wanted a career in psychology and counseling.
Due to unexpected twists and turns, I found myself in the world of education, my introduction to this world beginning with five years of homeschooling my own children. I then formally moved into the educational world, earning an education certification in the areas of social studies and special education in 2008. I spent my first 10 years in formal education working with special education students and later transitioned to teaching social studies, which I taught for the next 10 years. I am truly grateful to have put my undergraduate degree in history, and love of the subject, to use supporting the development of young minds.
This twenty-year detour in education provided an opportunity to be close with my children during their school years while also getting to do work that I genuinely loved, which included spending time with students.
Continuing my education at Stephens College, I completed a Master of Education and Counseling in 2015, and since 2017 have been working as a professional counselor. In 2024, I became an independent provider and established Kingsbridge Counseling, offering online and in-office sessions.
My years as an educator, mother, and wife have helped me grow and evolve in such a way that only time and experience can create--all of which I now bring into the work that I do today.
